In This Body: Healing Your Relationship to Food & Your Body with IFS
September 27, 2024 | 11:30AM - 3:00PM
New York | The Balance Arts Center
This workshop is a part of the NYC Metro IFS Workshop Series.
The messages we absorb from our diet and wellness culture, the burdens passed down from our families, as well as adverse and traumatic life experiences, can create a variety of challenges in our relationship with food and our bodies. Many of us are familiar with the frustrating and exhausting cycles of rigidity and chaos around food and movement, either personally or through our work with our clients. IFS gives us the framework to understand that these well-meaning protectors are trying to help us, even if there are negative consequences.
Join us on the last day of weight stigma awareness week for a time of connection, learning, and healing.
What you can expect during this 3-hour experiential workshop:
Engage in large group discussion, guided meditations and small group exercises to deepen your understanding of your internal system.
Connect with parts of you that carry different beliefs, emotions, and energies regarding food and your body.
Explore how these parts are trying to protect you, their fears and what they need to feel safe enough to soften and trust you.
Gain clarity on how to cultivate a more harmonious, Self-led relationship with food and your body.
